Sustainability Literacy: Benchmarking and Comparing Freshmen and Senior Business Majors Using the SULITEST

Keywords: Sustainability, SULITEST, Management education

Abstract: A pilot administration of SULITEST is described at a mid-sized Business School in New Jersey and the results are reported. As expected, seniors did better than freshmen on a number of scores and components. Post-test student reflections indicate a high level of interest in learning more about sustainability regardless of how students felt they did relative to how they expected to do. Opportunities to scale up the administration of SULITEST together with targeted curricular and pedagogical modifications may be useful in moving the students and faculty along the sustainability literacy continuum.
