Using Technology to Optimize Employee Motivation

Abstract: Employee motivation has been at the forefront of the human resources field for decades. As the use of technology has become ubiquitous, HR researchers and practitioners have shown an increased interest in using it to enhance organizational operations, efficiency, and competitiveness. Artificial intelligence, web platforms, and other digital tools are also playing an increasingly important role in enhancing employee motivation. Based on the survey of 27 Human Resource professionals, this paper examines the intricate relationship between employee motivation and the use of technology with a focus on age and educational level. The results show that employees believe that technology is a key component of their job. Employees credit technology as a major factor to making their job easier. The implications for HR field are discussed.
