Entrepreneurial Readiness: A Career Development Framework for Moroccan Females

Abstract: The present study assesses Moroccan women’s entrepreneurial preparedness using the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile (EMP) as it relates to the design and implementation of career development education, in the context of increasing the entrepreneurial success of Moroccan female participation in the field. The study-in-progress is based on the concepts of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial skills and personality traits, and the “SET” conceptual framework (Hayes, Subhan, & Herzog, 2020) which is a modification of the research offered by Krueger and Brazeal (1994). It is proposed that as the entrepreneurial readiness of Moroccan females increases, so will entrepreneurial success. Using a quantitative approach as the first stage of a possible mixed-methods design, the authors solicited EMP survey results from a target audience of Moroccan female nascent entrepreneurs. The study then focuses on identifying the level of entrepreneurial readiness of Moroccan females as the basis of developing a career development framework for improving female entrepreneurship participation and success within the Moroccan economy. The results of this study will add to the small body of research on Moroccan female entrepreneurship.
