Impact of digitalisation on equal opportunities in the labour society

Keywords: social sustainability, digitalisation, digital transformation, Agenda 2030, social impacts, sustainable development, equal opportunities, corporate social responsibility

Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to show the effects of digitalisation on the labour society so far and to identify future fields of research. In the context of this work, the focus is on the social consequences of the digitalisation of the world of work, especially with regard to equal opportunities. As an orientation, we draw on the social goals of Agenda 2030 with a focus on equal opportunities, which have been defined as common goals by the United Nations. Based on a structured literature review, we examine the influence of increasing digitalisation on various aspects of social sustainability. Nine hypotheses are developed, which we test with the help of existing studies. The results show that the effects of digitalisation on social sustainability have not been empirically proven to date and that further research is needed to close these gaps.
