Towards A Path of Financial Independence and Work-Life Balance: Examining Moroccan Women’s Entrepreneurial Readiness

Abstract: The present study aims to assess Moroccan women’s entrepreneurial preparedness using the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile (EMP) as it relates to designing and implementing career development education to increase the entrepreneurial success of Moroccan women’s participation in the field. The study is based on the concepts of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial skills, and personality traits, and the “SET” conceptual framework (Hayes, Subhan and Herzog, 2020), which is a modification of the research offered by Krueger and Brazeal (1994). It is suggested that as the entrepreneurial readiness of Moroccan women increases, so will their entrepreneurial success. Using a quantitative approach, the authors solicited EMP survey results from a target of Moroccan women’s nascent entrepreneurs. The current study then focused on identifying the participants’ entrepreneurial readiness as the basis for developing a career development framework for improving women’s entrepreneurship participation and success within the Moroccan context. The results from our study offer empirical support for skill development in the areas of 1- idea generation; 2- execution; 3- self-confidence; 4- optimism, 5 -persistence and add to the small body of literature on Moroccan women’s entrepreneurship.
