A Classroom Intervention To Educe Bias Against Individuals With Autism

This paper evaluates a classroom intervention that was designed to make management students more accepting of autism in the workplace. We begin by defining autism and explaining why scholars have argued that it confers advantages to performance in certain jobs. We then describe our intervention that is designed to reduce bias against autism among management students. Our intervention is to show three videos about neurodiversity in the workplace. Our research design utilizes an experimental group and a control group. We share our results, which confirm our hypotheses, and conclude with suggestions for future research and implications for teaching and practice.
